As a young artist I have always been passionate about dynamic engagement with art in the digital medium, and I am ever eager to pinpoint an anchor for deconstructing visual language within narratives and tell stories which elevate our lives; making us more empathetic, allowing us to become who we truly are through great experiences. To create an experience, as well as provide insight into the making of that experience, which helps to expand the view of games in the traditional art space, is my primary concern. To pinpoint a unique and original style amidst the process. To collate the amalgamation of works previously done and the new and interesting resources from which I have drawn upon in the creation of digital art. Like my approach to painting, my aim is to capture the truth of the beauty within a subject matter. But unlike this approach to painting (unless it is imaginative, as this project is) I am attaching story to the truth. In other words, I am creating myth around a fundamental concept which has existed throughout the story of time. In conclusion, my work interrogates the notion of experience and immersion, and because of my passion for games as visual and interactive experiences, I am investigating the process of the development of a game – through conceptualization, writing, design, and production – all while conveying a deeper meaning, sub textually, which relates to overarching themes of all three years of this degree.
