Katy is a multidisciplinary artist who has recently been using film and photography to explore the intimate world of sensuality, identity, and a social commentary on how we view the human body. Often using herself in her own work, Katy finds a delicate balance of vulnerably and liberation which she communicates through her artwork. During her time at Kingston University, she has made important works exploring the tedious social politics surrounding female sexuality and how social media has changed society’s landscape for good and the worst.

In these recent works, she has moved aside her explicit paintings for a more abstract sensual view of the human sensual experience using balloons in place of the body, forming and tensing around each other. Strangely uncomfortable, yet you are unable to look away.

Born in Cornwall in 1999, Katy now works between Cornwall
and London, studying Fine Art at Kingston University. Her
practice focuses on figurative painting and the human and
natural form. She is greatly influenced by social media, with
her work acting as a societal commentary.
