A Particular Reality (APR) is a collaboration between Fine Art students at Kingston and Goldsmiths Universities, devised by Jo Addison (Head of Department of Fine Art, Kingston School of Art) and Michelle Williams Gamaker (Lecturer in Fine Art at Goldsmiths University of London) in 2018. The project is intended to forge connections across creative disciplines amongst students, educators, and makers. Working together, students and staff provide safe and brave creative spaces to individuals who identify with feeling isolated in respect of their cultural identity and lived experience, whilst foregrounding the subject of race and racism in our communities through dialogue and opportunities for learning.

Fake Woke – 2019 – KSA project Space -Exhibition of work by Kingston and Goldsmiths students
The APR zine – 2020 – Publication intended to simultaneously provoke and support dialogue through artworks and texts; it was designed to signal to current and future students that we have begun an urgent dialogue and that their experiences of the challenges of higher education need not be alone. This zine, which is hoped will be the first of many was put together by an editorial group comprising of students and alumni of both Universities. The launch event of the zine took place on the 24th March 2021 and was supported by live and recorded discussions between staff and students discussing the issues raised within its pages.
