Karenza is an interdisciplinary illustrator, animator, maker and designer. Alongside her time at Kingston, she has studied in Germany (HAW) and Switzerland (HSLU) during exchange, and plans to continue to work internationally.
She has a particular interest in games, stories, and interactive experiences, and is always looking for new materials and processes to experiment with. Recently Karenza has been working at the intersection of art and technology with Arduino projects such as PEEP.EE, an interactive robot who claims to want to learn ‘human bullying’, giving the player tasks and reacting based on their inputs.
Karenza likes to expand projects through multiple mediums: for example, bringing the 2D animation Joining Forces in the 3D world through 3D printed figurines, or her Flags of Humanity project, which transformed through from workshop, to boardgame, to flags in an exhibition space.
Karenza’s practice is highly collaborative. You can find her co-authored animation Joining Forces with Alyaa R. and community design project Flags of Humanity with Lucy Llorente elsewhere on the site.
