This set of paintings constructs a visualisation of pathological cellular activities inside a body suffering from cancer. Each individual represents a related symptom including internal haemorrhage, helcodermatosis, etc. Colours are put to the canvas with one single palette knife. Some parts also contain other materials such as gold foil papers, they would be applied onto the moist as a symbolisation of something heterogeneous and invasive like cancer cells. This series is inspired by scan image of cells broadly used in medical practice. It could be seen as an extension of surgical illustration in modern age. This kind of images is normally presented in vibrant colours to high-lighten the sophisticated structure of cells. These works adapt a similar colour scheme to depict various states of internal pathogenic development in an abstract method.
