Yeshé is a multidisciplinary artist/illustrator based in London who focuses on communicating narratives through an expanded notion of what illustration is. Yeshé often creates immersive work that activates the senses for the viewer to gain a greater understanding of ideas/concepts. She explore subjects in a conceptual manner, using methods of performance to create illustrations and animations. Yeshé’s work is displayed in a range of formats, from installations and books, to set designs and body adornment.

Metamorphosis is Yeshé’s illustrative interpretation of Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis. Yeshé’s main focus was to look into identity and alienation, using the idea of the character’s metamorphosis into becoming an insect as a metaphor for his change in identity. From the different performative illustration methods of exploration, she combined the drawings and photography in a book to illustrate Kafka’s text in a way that engages the audience to have them be able to empathise with the character.

Gregor is a digital interactive book exploring the idea of empathy; seeing with the eyes of another. Inspired by Franz’ Kafka’s text ‘Metamorphosis’, Yeshé created multiple different eyewear from various materials that warped the wearer’s vision, creating feelings of alienation and distortion. The relationship of opposing pages utilise still and moving image with the use of the AR App, EyeJack that bring the images to life.

I’m interested in documenting and translating sensory exploration through drawing, photography and videography. It allows me to bond well to many subject areas and create bridges to other disciplines through the sensory nature of my work.
