Victoria Hoover is a debuting graphic novelist and recent graduate of KSA. She specialises in character-based illustration, with an emphasis on narrative.
For her final project, Victoria created ‘WILL’, an 128 page graphic novel that explores substance abuse and mental health issues within a rich character study. Based off her own screenplay of the same name, Victoria competed the artistic process in just under three months, illustrating up to five pages a day.
As her first major comic and self-driven project, Victoria found a new passion and outlet for story-telling. ‘WILL’ is currently self published, and the first of a trilogy. However, Victoria plans to complete the further two parts and aims to publish her work officially in the near future.
‘WILL’ is available to buy on Victoria’s Etsy or read for free online.
After multiple lockdowns creating a graphic novel allowed me to find a new direction in my practice. Although challenging, the process was beyond rewarding; I discovered a new love for script-writing, illustration and my own art. The passion behind this project is something I hope shows in the pages of ‘WILL’.
