My final project content is about my left behind experience when i was a kid. and i grow up with my grandparents. as a left behind child, i used to feel lonely without my parents’ accompany. but i still have a very happy childhood with my grandparents’ accompany. i used to put on adult’s clothing a lot to have fun and being like an adult when i was a kid, and the huge adult’s cloth on my tiny body make the clothing oversize. so i got inspired by my grandparents’ work wear in land and the clothing they wear in the past. in that generation, people wear traditional clothing and western suit, it is very mixed. also i took the film camera shoot photograph, it is all about the countryside view and the earth building which i used to live. for fabric i used linen and sustainable silk which was dyed by shuliang (a type of plant ) and river mud.
This image is from my collection look 1. I shoot the back ground of earth building and field in the countryside, and make them to be my print on the sleeve. For the main part on back, i used sustainable silk which is 100% plant dying and hand made. The hat is made by bamboo, which is developed from my grandma’s farm work hat.
