My major project aims to explore more appropriate women’s clothing for contemporary women working in the body strength genre. To answer this question, the first step was to collect and collate various images, archival clothing and historical transcripts.

My project is based on researching the clothing of women working in the sea fishing industry in different countries in the early twentieth century, focusing on pocket construction and print design, and designing a range of feminist and romantic clothing for a more physically active woman. I wanted to convey that the feminist beauty of my brand was not just for beautiful, sexy women, but that the fat or muscular woman who works manually could still have beautiful clothes.

I wanted to give women the power of confidence and optimism in my designs, and my clothes can be combined in different ways, which I hope will convey the romantic feminine beauty that I seek to discover in the lives of these poor women who were struggling to make ends meet, to encourage contemporary women to dress with femininity, optimism and confidence. During my research, I found that these women who live by the sea, despite the challenges of poverty, work and tension, never lose their zest for life and their smiles, and work and decorate as many aspects of their lives as possible, using their own clothes. I set out to create clothes that were suitable for modern women, while leaving a romantic and feminine impression.
