For my project ‘The Beauty of Traditional Tibetan Fashion’ I developed a website from scratch utilising HTML and CSS. This is a representation of my ancestry/heritage, I opted to base it on my culture: Tibet. The website examines the mechanisms in and around the fashion of the clothing and accessories that build meaning and showcases my research work on the materials used to make them. I wanted people to be able to comprehend and use the knowledge on how to correctly wear them step by step, as well as make it global and stylish so that individuals from all over the globe would feel comfortable experimenting with clothes and the way they consume fashion.

My video essay ‘How has BTS defied gender stereotypes?’ I discuss how BTS defy gender stereotypes and has inspired yet empowered many people especially the younger generations around the world. I chose this specific topic because K-pop idols and politics hardly mix in contemporary South Korea. Although some hip-hop acts, such as Epik High, tackle contentious issues, many idol groups adhere to a polished, apolitical template that has proved to be successful. I’ve highlighted and analysed the key debates of nature vs. nurture, addressed representation on how BTS has impacted people by citing their UN speech, and related Judith Butler’s gender performativity theory to Jimin’s Filter performance.

For Kingston Hub and Schools Plus, my group had built an easily accessible educational website for children and adults to effectively learn online from home. We’d decided to combine Spanish (modern languages) with its history as well. There are three topics to pick from on the website: food/drinks, holidays, and sports. Each topic has been divided into three stages. The beginner level is first, then the intermediate, and finally the advanced level.
