Rebecca is a Korean/Canadian Illustrator currently based in London. She graduated from Parsons the New School for Design and received a BFA degree in fashion design. She worked as a fashion designer in New York and Toronto, specializing in knitwear, for about 10 years before changing her career path to pursue illustration. While she was working in the fashion industry, drawing and painting after work was the only time that she could focus on herself. It helped her to understand herself better and get through life obstacles.

Her goal is to create works that inspire people to connect with their inner selves and find joy within themselves. Creating something for a better future is her main goal as a creative practitioner. Her work is often inspired by thoughts and emotions from various moments that people encounter in life, from covering small daily events to more significant moments. It’s her way of looking back on the past, appreciating the present and thinking of a better future.

Her creating process involves a combination of analogue and digital. She loves exploring different types of analogue mediums, also passionate about learning more about printmaking. Her goal is to keep practicing and learning about traditional ways of creating art and harmoniously combining them with digital technologies. The type of illustrations that she is looking forward to working on are narrative editorial illustration for articles and campaigns, picture book illustration for teens and adults, and branding and packaging.
