Hi! My name is Rachelle Anam-anam and I am a Brighton/London based illustrator, film maker and animator.
My work is inspired by Nostalgia and Personal Stories. The fascinating world of memory and a longing for a past time. I find myself exchanging many conversations on reflecting back to the past, whether its back to Primary School days or just the weekend gone. I enjoy transporting myself to moments where I feel at happiest, embarrassed and sometimes most vulnerable. Its important to reflect back sometimes as that’s where you’ll see growth plus its a chance to humour yourself!
I like to combine these themes together with the idea of ‘Unity’ and ‘Identity,’ through my image making. I aspire to use common and unusual stories in order to unify others and help with he discovery of ones identity.
Recently I have worked on an upcoming 2D animated film “Unsent Love Letters.” It was heavily inspired by my High School diary in which shares many hilarious pages of secondary school antics along side a sweet growing love story.Watch here: https://vimeo.com/user144919818
I like to work with digital hand drawn animation as well as film. My short film “Palangga” is a heart-warming piece about the importance of “Loving everyone and everything.” Watch here: https://vimeo.com/user144919818
