Colourin Lamp:
The interactive side table lamp encourages users to personalise and customise its shade and therefore the environment that it’s placed in.
The user can affect the mood and atmosphere of the lamp and its surroundings by mixing coloured household disregarded packaging to create a beautiful abstract image and projection through its frosted lens.
Colourin supplies a starter pack that educates on the effects of colour on moods and also provides a palette of colours for concentration, energy, relaxation and sleep to positively impact the user’s well being. These were chosen through observation – softer tones of colour are often linked to relaxation contexts – and scientifically e.g. the colour yellow is featured in the sleep palette as yellow filters out blue light which positively impacts the secretion of melatonin thus enabling sleep.
