I am an illustrator, designer and poet currently based in South London. My work is a derivation of all three of my practices and I am interested in exploring their correlation with each other.
I completed my undergraduate diploma in Communication Design from ISDI Parsons from Mumbai, India while simultaneously finishing a BA in Sociology from University of Mumbai. I also worked in the publishing industry as a graphic designer before joining KSA to study Illustration. By choosing illustration, I aim to develop a more in-depth understanding of storytelling and use this to fuel my practice as a transdisciplinary artist.
For the past year, I have been exploring working instinctually using a mixture of analogue and digital mediums and finding a balance between the practical and fluid nature of image-making. My current projects investigate subjects related to emotional health and using this to find parallels between people of different backgrounds.
The images showcase my capstone project for the year 2020-21. It delved into the topic of found poetry and rejection. I spoke to and collected people’s stories around a broad definition of the word rejection and gave these experiences a place where they can rest. The final book became an outpouring of stories about self-love, loss and letting go.
