Molly works across Illustration and Animation with a range of mediums. Her focus is towards textures and building atmosphere and tone for projects to create worlds for them to exist in. The main focus of her end of year projects was around poems and creating instinctive work in response. The themes of these were largely focused on subverting the male gaze. With the use of collage, the intention was also to visually present an idea of space between reality and other worlds is it a dream-like state or a fairy kingdom. Using digital images of the woods as a focus point the squares were extended with charcoal drawings then inverted. This also created a layer between reality and the image/ world being created. Molly also worked with film within animation. She experimented with green screen and rotoscoping and using other artistic elements such as dance and sound to create a performative piece. Other mediums used were chalk pastels, acrylic paint and graphite. Molly aims to keep her work as hand-drawn and observant of the maker as possible using natural or recycled materials wherever possible.

Nature is a key theme throughout all my work and I always aim to work instinctively to create a true reflection of my emotional response to whatever I am working with. I also work on other commercial projects, when I can, as working with other people is always inspirational.
