A desk lamp that has a dual function, a minimalistic and slim design and consists out of high-quality materials.
The major focus in the lamp lies are the materials that it contains. The second focus lies in the energy saving technology and the option to disassembly and replace separate parts.
There are two major materials that got composed to create this product, Alabaster stone, and brass metal. Each material got used by many decades or even centuries to symbolise exclusivity as well as quality. These two extraordinary materials got merged to create a minimalistic and yet timeless desk lamp design.
I chose alabaster stone because of its spectacular qualities. It does not only resemble marble but is also translucent, which gave me the inspiration to build in an ambient light inside of the alabaster base. The light would then highlight the structure and colours of the stone when turning on.
A dual functional desk lamp that consists out of a combination of prestige materials such as Alabaster stone and solid Brass. The lamp functions as a classic desk lamp but also has a ambient light inside of the Alabaster stone that lets the light shine out through its translucent quality.
