Kalpana is an animator based in London. Her body of work includes paintings, drawings, moving images, light environments and installations.Working in experimental film, her works traverse numerous thematics connected to identity and culture and the relationship between materiality and concept.She explores form and movement within the 3D landscape taking apart her mark making practices.
How do marks conversate?
‘Lost in Translation’ is a documentation of learning to write in my native language , Nepali. These few pages from my book documents an exploration into the shapes of letters.The project further developed into an immersive physical space exploring how my marks could interact with the audience.
