BINGLE BINGLE

BINGLE BINGLE stool improves users’ sedentary lifestyle.

‘Bingle Bingle’ means ‘going round and round’ in Korean. The ‘Bingle Bingle’ chair allows sitters to experience constant yet subtle movement and to take perching position when the feet touch the ground. As a result, they can achieve healthier sitting positions especially in this pandemic situation. The centre leg is two-centimetres longer than the other twelve legs so the chair rocks slightly and spins. There are two versions of the stool one is made out of wood and the other is made out of metal. Wooden chair requires more sophisticated manufacturing process so the price has to be set higher than the metal stool. So, it will be more suitable for domestic environment where you put more care into and don’t want to put heavy over-engineered task chairs. And the metal chair is suitable for contract environments because the manufacturing process is much simpler and uses cheaper and stronger materials.

D-LIGHT

‘D-LIGHT’ is 3D Printed Smart Phone Lighting.
Designed to combat the social interference of the mobile phone in our private space.

The concept is to ‘distance technology using technology’. These 3D printed objects preventusersfromaccessingtheirphones, allowing themto enjoymore atmosphere. The forms of the objects are organically shaped which were inspired by nature so they visualise the harsh light energy, coming out from phone flashlights,in a more organic way.The contrast between the organic forms and a rectangle which is a plainandrestrained geometry, shows the energy growing out from it more dramatically. Although these organic forms are very difficult to be produced hollowly, 3D printers have enabled the complex forms come into a real lifeand have allowedthem to be produced in large quantities. The D-LIGHT is suitable to be used in domestic environments or in hotels and restaurants, replacing candle-lights.
