This project aims to make the audience re-think about stereotypes they take for granted.

One of the obstacles to gender equality is gender stereotypes.

Before people get to know someone, people assume others’ abilities, personalities, and qualities base on “gender norms” in their minds.

Even though women and LGBT+ rights still have space for improvements, men are usually being neglected when discussing gender equality, which can make improving women and LGBT+ rights more difficult (Conaway, 2013; Smiler & Taylor, 2019).

According to my research, the root of gender inequality seems to be femmephobia, the fear of being feminine. Because some people think “being feminine” or “act like a girl” is inferior, they devalue women and men with feminine features, which leads to toxic masculinity (Mommertz, 2021; Weiss, 2018).

Therefore, I decided to illustrate male characters doing “feminine” things in a casual way to show that it is normal to do these things, and hopefully, it can make people re-think gender stereotypes.
