Hi! I’m Jack! a typographically driven designer, always striving to create unique systems through editorial & typographic orientated work. My design is systematic; I find functional graphic design inspiring. Finding beauty in the mundane is what excites me the most. Flags or road signs may seem familiar to us every day, yet the stories behind their design are fascinating. The first project on this page is all about flags. I created a typeface inspired by merchant shipping flags from the 20th century. Using this typeface, I designed a series of flags intended to combat the dodgy shipping practice: Flags Of Convenience. The 2nd project, Publication Dissertation, is all about celebrating the variety of typefaces available online. My thesis looks at the relationship between craftsmanship and modern typography. The publication combines modern typefaces with a hand-bound binding: marrying contemporary type with craftsmanship.
