Harriet Morton-Smith is a multidisciplinary illustrator with a focus on character, humour and moving image which is evident in her final film, The Squeeze; a project that was created completely at home during the recent pandemic.
With her final animated film she raises awareness normalises spots through the vessel of a bright, upbeat and comical film that celebrates the differences between us all whilst simultaneously unifying us through our skin. It’s not just teenagers that get spots – and by making the private act of spot squeezing the centrepiece of her final film she inspires a sense of community during a time in which the facade of social media perfection rules above all and reconnecting with one another is paramount.
Harriet creates bright hand made polymer clay and shell earrings which are available in store at Not My Beautiful Home Kingston and online through her Etsy shop.
