This collection is a marriage of my upbringing in the North West of England combined with my time working in New York City. I’m linking my working-class background particularly to Little Italy; the emphasis on strong family relationships and the over the top, exaggerated looks of women in Italian American gangster films reminded me of the emphasis on beauty, glamour and relationships back home. My collection represents how being working-class shouldn’t limit your opportunities – especially within the arts.
