Freyja is an illustrator, animator and visual communicator. Her recent body of work features captivating documentary style animations centering around personal stories and experiences. Throughout her time at Kingston Freyja has experimented with several original ways of animating and collaborated on many university and client led briefs. Having worked with charities such as Cats Protection and Compass Collective, her work is empathetic, playful, and invites the viewer to act.

Freyja champions storytelling through the creation of relatable characters and convincing narratives. Accompanying this, her films often feature interviews or spoken audio which form the springboard for her image making. Despite working primarily in a digital format, her films have a hand-drawn, authentic feel; embracing mistakes and combining the organic nature of drawing and movement. Drawing is at the heart of her practice, with most of her ideas inspired by the rough visualisations in her sketchbook.
