‘Family Playhouse’ is an educational paper toy that allows a conversation between parents/teachers and children about diversity in families. The toy contains 94 characters of different genders, physical appearances and disabilities, mixed ethnicities and ages.
It also contains 16 square and 8 triangle puzzle pieces to build different types of houses representing people living on different incomes and allowing a conversation about changes that may happen to families such as divorce and co-parenting.
‘Family Playhouse’ allows open-ended play too.
Children can interact with the house environment by lifting the flaps and revealing curious details. The myriad combinations they can make with the characters and the rooms give them plenty of material for improvised storytelling, building and exploring.
