Emily has a diverse background in photography and the visual arts, her main interests are creative portraiture and documentary photography. After graduating from Kingston University in 2015, Emily has since worked as a photographer for various clients and production companies in London. In 2019 she launched her own ‘at home’ photography business, serving local families in South West London. During this time, she found herself drawn to the process involved in running creative projects. In 2020 she’s began her MSc Project Management for Creative Practitioners course. Along with her post-graduate studies, she collaborated on small live projects, from the DA&D New Blood to working with a northern creative agency, Buttercrumble.
For Emily’s Final Major Project, she was invited to pitch and plan the documentary sub-project program for Ben Judd’s Origin Project. A vast project set to capture visuals for the Stanley Picker Gallery and the artist’s archive. The documentation crew’s main objective was to record the live performance by Kingston University Dance students, capture the events managed by various local communities. In addition document the boat construction designed by KSA interior design undergraduates, and exhibition built and created by architects at 121 Collective. Emily’s role was to proactively monitor progress and the triple constraints (time, cost, and scope) while resolving project risks. Additionally, was the coordination of a documentation team while optimising resource allocation. Overall, she was responsible for the integrity and coherence of each sub-project including photography, videography and events.
Moving forward, Emily would love to get involved in media production, art direction, or producing. Additionally, if you need help with managing creative projects feel free to connect.
