The Circus (2021) is a short film by Ella Hawes that takes you on an exploration through a magical reality. Inspired by Ella’s favourite book, “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern, the film plays with the ideas of fantasy, reality and time. Being an aspiring set designer Ella has used her skills to build her own dioramas to create a new world for the audience to experience. Filmed in her attic with only an iPhone and some torches, this film was a passion project for Ella during her confinement in the pandemic and a way for her to push her talents as a set designer. Ella hopes that one day she will be a well established set designer and share more of her ideas with the world.
