Apart from professional usage, daily applications of algorithms can be growingly seen in recent years, and are affecting the lives of many people. Some algorithms are accused of producing unfair outcomes. The unfairness may discourage confidence and trust, which may not be desirable to make the transition to a more sustainable society.

It seems that now we need to think about the impacts of algorithms on society as well as daily, individual lives – what if one only receives preferable news articles instead of some opposing voices? What if algorithms learn from a stereotyped database? …

With the combination of quiz-like posters and an informative website, the current project aims to equip potential algorithm “influencees” with basic understandings of some typical “daily algorithms”, encouraging further public discussions on the subject matter.
