Project 1: Set Tee.
Set Tee is a Modular lounge chair, derived from the idea that triangles will always fit within a square, allowing the back to nest within the base.
This project focuses on celebrating space, as the hollow centre of the profile allows the user to see through the entire extrusion, in which the alternating colours of the modules can be seen.
The on-site linking of the back and seat, and their nesting, can save time and space during transport and storage.
Made up of a laminated Aero Ply-Formed structure, with foam and woven fabric upholstery.
Project 2: Three Piece.
A desk designed for working at home, as a response to Covid-19; which can be hung up, into a wardrobe, when you no longer want to see your workspace.
The legs slide on and off, not needing any fasteners. Overall the user only needs the 3 components to make up the desk, 1 top and 2 legs.
The top has a honeycomb ‘Dufaylite’ internal, with hardwood lipping and a veneered surface. The legs and table hanger are stainless steel, with a powder-coat finish.
Both projects are critically analysing typical furniture assembly, which is often unnecessarily complex and have a larger number of components involved than necessary; both within domestic and contract environments.
