Cem Tanyu is a London based Turkish filmmaker who is very passionate about film and documentary making relating to history. Cem wishes to represent history as authentic as possible. From a very young age, he has been always into historical dramas and documentaries. He likes to use well research authentic costumes, props and sets to portray a historical period. His style is very visual and likes to stand out with its raw and harsh realism.
His most recent docu-drama “The Food of Gallipoli” looks into soldiers rations that were given to them during the Gallipoli Campaign. Filmed on the Gallipoli peninsula under the harsh Anatolian sun it explores the Gallipoli campaign from an overlooked topic.
