Casey Dodd is Storyteller, Artist and Book Illustrator. Focused on writing and children’s illustrating stories full of wild adventures that parents and children can enjoy together. She makes anything that involves storytelling, from books to maps.
Making maps and illustrating stories really create a world for children to explore and use their imagination to add to the story or even create their own ending.
Her goal is to create stories that can have a positive impact on children and parents, teaching them about the fascinating world we live in and drawing in a way that reflects how young people see it, with wonder, intrigue and endless possibilities.
The images showcased are from ‘Our Home in the Rainforest’, written and illustrated in Casey’s final year to show children the impact of deforestation and showing how they can help.
Our Home in the Rainforest is an important book talking about the deforestation and how children and parents can help from home, instead of scaring them I wanted it to give them a sense that they can make impact through their own actions.
