The Project is aimed to promote the idea of circular economy through the technology of Nike Grind. It is a proposal that encourages people to think outside of the box about their waste, for instance, what can be the end life of that. Generally, a worn-out garment or shoes will just go into a landfill. However, by demonstrating that they could turn into a new project or source of material, this emphasis the circular mindset. By also interacting with the circular product, gives people the idea of how a product can have more than one life. By allowing customers to interact, experience, and exhibit this Nike store, they would be more likely to adapt to the idea of circularity.
The store is situated in Bishopsgate Goodsyard. A location centered around Hoxton, Brick Lane, and Liverpool Street district. It has a profound history since the 1840s and has been derelict for over 40 years while numerous re-development plans have been proposed over the years. The idea of opening a Nike store on the site, can revive the station and put it back into usage. The rationale for selecting the first three arches is that the store can attract pedestrians from the Braithwaite st, the Shoreditch High street station, and the Shoreditch Boxpark, thus increasing the store’s footprint.
