Hi, my name is Benjamin Wotton and I’m a young designer from Cornwall. Growing up in a small village, I came up to Kingston to study a graphic BA as I wanted to develop my skills in a completely different environment. As a dyslexic I have always found work hard, but over my last few years here I have improved my skills — experimenting with animation, prop design, branding & advertising, creative thinking, UI and social design.

Overall these are a few projects which has shown my development as a designer, expressed my standpoint of the importance of simplicity within design, as well as my experimentations with different colour tones and animation to design each of my different projects. First, I did a collaborative charity project with SPEAR, an organization combating homelessness by creating an interactive public installation. Having a cleaning OCD, I created an advertising campaign on the impacts of frequent use of cleaning products. Next, I designed “Change the Way You Think”, a poster campaign dealing with anxiety; MINO, a new dating platform that combats catfishing; and Pass The Baton. Throughout the years, I have developed my own form of flat graphics taking main inspirations from Moving Brands, Kurzgesagt, Spotify branding, and Studio Ghibli.

Being a clean freak and enjoying art that looks aesthetically clean, I chose to do graphic design as it is the intersection between science and aesthetics.
