Ben Sinclair experiments with painterly and organic hand drawn animation, with a focus on environmental and animal rights issues, using narrative and characters to educate and motivate viewers to make positive changes for our planet. After creating “Sabotaging Cruelty” and “Between Hunters and Foxes”, he began to find this love for animating wildlife and harbouring empathy for the many aspects of nature that are under pressure across the world. “Interbeing” now takes a more in depth look at our fundamental relationship with nature at a philosophical level, and is presented in an abstract and allegorical way. Ben wants to bring new perspectives on the issue of climate change and animal rights, looking for new ways in which we can understand our connection to the natural world, which the endless medium of animation allows for. He will continue to create animations on these subjects in the future, hoping to encourage others to make a difference for the environment.
“Interbeing” is a surrealist animated film that talks about our relationship to nature and how we must reconnect with it on a fundamental level. With narration from Charles Eisenstein, the film explains that although climate change is overwhelming, making us feel powerless, we must stay connected with nature in any way we can.
