This is a shortened version of  the 3 mins-film ‘ころなうりうす CORONAWIRUS.’ It is often discussed how badly children are suffering from the pandemic that started in 2020, but there are not many opportunities to listen to their voices directly unless you have children around you. Ayumi decided to document their voices and drawings to know what they are seeing and feeling at this moment. She asked a few children to draw things and people related to their experience in the pandemic. As a Japanese animator, she mainly focused on the situation in Japan in the film. Most of the characters in the animation were originally drawn by children, and they were out into alive by her according to what children were talking about. There is no answer offered in the film, but there can be something to learn by listening to their stories.

Ayumi Yanagi a Japanese visual communicator primarily working on animation and illustration. Her practice bases on documenting moments of people and the world in a humourous and an experimental way using collages of materials. Tactility and playfulness are the core of her practice.
