[en] I am Azza, an illustrator and designer from Austria. I have always drawn inspiration from pop culture and everything from children’s TV shows to album artwork inspires me to create bold pieces with a vibrant colour palette.

Prior to moving to London in 2020 to study illustration, I attended the Higher Technical College and Master School for Communication Design in Linz, Austria.

My love of story telling and fiction fuels my interest in illustration. I love character design and working with patterns. Attention to detail is incredibly important to me and the look of my designs.

I prefer to work digitally, mostly using Procreate to design my pieces. However, I think it is more important than ever to maintain technical skills in more traditional forms of illustration. I especially like to work with simple pens and paper when experimenting at the beginning of my projects.

I am constantly learning and my process is ever changing. I will never stop aiming to improve my skills and finding new sources of inspiration (especially with a new Marvel film coming out every few months).

[de] Ich bin Azza, eine Illustratorin und Designerin aus Österreich. Meine größte Inspiration ist Popkultur. Alles von Kinderserien bis zu Album Cover Designs inspiriert mich, farbenfrohe, plakative Arbeiten zu kreieren.

Bevor ich 2020 nach London gezogen bin, um Illustration zu studieren, habe ich die HTL und Meisterschule für Kommunikationsdesign in Linz besucht.

Ich liebe es, Charaktere zu entwerfen und mit Mustern zu arbeiten. Liebe zum Detail ist sehr wichtig für mich und beinflusst mein Design. Ich zeichne hauptsächlich digital, trotzdem ist es mir wichtig, immer wieder zu traditionelleren Formen der Illustration zurückzukehren. Gerade in der Anfangsphase eines Projekts arbeite ich deswegen gern mit Papier und Bleistift.

Ich werde nie aufhören, zu zeichnen und ich werde nie aufhören, inspiriert zu sein (vor allem, wenn alle paar Monate ein neuer Marvel Film herauskommt).
