Project Herman is named after Herman Teig, the German ‘friendship cake’, whose yeasty ingredients proliferate when a small amount is passed from person to person. One starter can, in theory, last indefinitely. Here then, the name is a metaphor for the passing on of experiences, skills, knowledge and expertise between recent alumni and current students of BA Fine Art, KSA.
The alumni who visited us during May 2021 responded to a call out on Instagram offering a mixture of short talks, group discussion and workshops.
Project Herman is designed to provide current students with recent, lived, shared experience, which you can draw upon when considering your progress, and life beyond the course. Speakers this year included: Dank Collective, Isobel Lister, Tim Wolf, Robbie Howells, Melody Park, Daisy Nutting, Cecily Loveys Jervoise and Amy Gillies.
