Each year L5 Fine Art students are invited to take part in a 1 month residency in the Institute of Proposals. The Institute is a place for playful invention and collective conversation where participants can imagine, reconfigure, decorate, and inhabit the space during the residency. There is an Institute of Proposals web site where the project begins with a sound recording of ‘Andrea’s Story’. The story leads participants through the space and acts as a starting point for ideas and interventions.

Outcomes can take any form, including objects, proposals, video, performance, curating, model making, diagrams, manifestos, events, writing, discussions etc. Students are asked to work in small groups, reflecting the current interest in collaboration as a strategy for enhancing and sustaining a practice.
